Tennesseans deserve affordable, clean energy, but we’re falling behind the rest of the South.
Our communities bear the burden of some of the country’s highest electric bills, while our state lags behind on solar installations and energy efficiency programs that could be creating jobs and lowering our bills. That’s thanks to policies, usually made behind closed doors, that actually undermine those choices.
Renewing Tennessee’s commitment to clean and affordable energy depends on policymakers (at all levels!) making bigger, bolder, commitments to policies and programs that work for all Tennesseans. Energy efficiency programs and investments in renewable energy (like solar) reduce waste and pollution, while saving ratepayers money and driving economic growth.
If we want to see change, policymakers at all levels, federal, state, local, and at the monopoly electric utilities need to hear our demands for real solutions. We need to ask them to make a commitment to renewing Tennessee, and to show us their plan.
