The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) seeks a full-time Electric Transportation Manager to help develop, grow, and maintain our electric transportation efforts across the Southeast region, including ensuring an equitable and just transition.

Job Responsibilities

The Electric Transportation Manager will work with the Electric Transportation team and other SACE program staff to develop and implement internal and external plans to accomplish program and organizational goals. Responsibilities include: 

  • Lead the implementation of Electric Black Futures, a three-year US DOE funded project that empowers black communities in Albany, Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia to shape their electric mobility future including workforce development to access EV industry jobs.
  • Represent SACE’s Electric Transportation team on equity and justice-related issues through effective collaboration across the region and specifically with Georgia clean energy allies, and as part of the Towards Equitable Electric Mobility North Carolina cohort. 
  • Assist in meeting regional program equity and accessibility goals including work on affordable housing car share project (Charlotte, NC), electric school buses (GA, NC, and SC), community and municipality engagement (regional), and Justice40 implementation (regional)
  • Assist the Electric Transportation team with effective communication and storytelling, including amplifying the voices of traditionally marginalized communities.   
  • Be able to work with flexibility and the ability to quickly pivot to shifting priorities and tasks within different issue sets.
  • Be willing to travel as needed to support the Electric Transportation team’s work in priority states, which include Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolina, and Tennessee. 

Qualifications

  • Must reside in the state of Georgia
  • Have a passion for equity and environmental justice
  • Experience working with underserved and/or BIPOC communities
  • Community-centric experience: working in the community, strategic planning developing community events
  • Experience in mobility (electric transportation preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience working with or writing for environmental or energy-related audiences a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills to be able to effectively coordinate requests from program staff and schedule external communications.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines with flexibility, integrity, accountability, and a commitment to maintaining quality.
  • Work well independently, and as part of a geographically dispersed team.
  • Commitment to advancing clean and equitable energy as a climate solution, and to SACE’s mission and DEI principles.
  • Proficiency with Google Drive is required.
  • Experience with WordPress, Canva or Adobe Suite products, CRM platforms like EveryAction or ActBlue, is a plus. 
  • Desire to grow and strengthen your skill set to support the evolving needs of the organization.
  • A passion for clean energy, environmental, and public interest issues is essential for understanding and conveying SACE’s unique multi-program focus (electric transportation, solar and wind, energy efficiency, utility decarbonization, and environmental justice.)

This is a full-time remote position, but we require the position be filled by someone who resides in the state of Georgia. 

The salary range for this position is $54,000 – $64,000. SACE offers a full benefits package including health insurance, 401k matching, paid vacation, flex time, paid sick leave, sabbatical and generous holiday time off. Additionally, SACE will provide support for training to deepen skillset when appropriate.
