Electric vehicles are good for public health, the environment, and your wallet. The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy’s Driving on Sunshine campaign promotes driving electric through free, hands-on driving experiences.
Kate Tracy and Dory Larsen | February 14, 2020 | Clean Transportation, Electric Vehicles, FloridaIt’s no secret that we here at the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) strive to reduce carbon emissions in the energy and transportation sectors to stave off the worst impacts of climate change. One of the most effective steps that cities, counties, and individuals can take to reduce carbon emissions is to transition gasoline-powered vehicles to electric-fueled ones. And when those electric vehicles are powered by renewable energy, such as through solar-fueled charging stations, then transportation is both cost-efficient and carbon-free.
In order to spread the benefits of driving electric to as many people as possible, SACE launched the Driving On Sunshine EV Roadshow in 2019, focusing on educating individuals and communities in Florida. Take a look at the last six-months of EV test drives and ride-alongs.
This year we’re ready to push the pedal to the metal: we have a goal to hit 2020 total drives by the end of 2020!
We can bring up to 3 all-electric vehicles (depending on the size of the event and staff availability) to workplaces and events for test drives, which may include a Tesla Model X, a Tesla Model 3, and a Nissan LEAF.
In addition to vehicles, we can bring a branded tent, flags, and table to offer Driving on Sunshine branded materials and factsheets about driving electric. These materials can be viewed here.
Check out our new promotional video and help us spread the word about the electric vehicle roadshow that’s empowering individuals and communities across the Sunshine State to transition to clean, electric transportation!
